How I hate thunderstorms & the damage they cau

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 6, 2007, 3:00 AM
After being offline for three days after the massive thunderstorms here in Sydney fried my broadband modem, I have finally got myself back online but with dialup.....snail web....lol. Anyway just glad that we only had the modem, daughter's pc & 2 dvd players fried and not more.

So if anyone is looking for me over the next few days & wonders why i'm not around as much its because of the internet connection being dialup.

At least the modem will be replaced on Saturday so it wont take too long before i can be doing what I want online again.

Yeah, gotta love those thunderstorms...

My last computer got fried during a storm. Luckyily a had enough spare pieces to patch it up & get it running, but still, wasn't fun...

Dial-up... Welcome to my world!!! Oh, how I pine for cable or broadband, but tis too expensive for me :( One day... Until then, I'll just be over here, sitting in the corner waiting for pages to load...

Oh babe I sympathize with you. I never knew how good broadband was until I had it and compared the two.

I have become so use to broadband that I forgot how slow it is, I'm glad that I only have to put up with it to Saturday.

They're scary things, one we had blew up our electric fence(it was turned off but the charge came back through the ground). I always turn the computer, off when I'm not using it, just in case. We get a lot of storms here too.
I got zapped from the co-ax for the TV once, it was making the video go nuts so when I unpluged it...it bit me, geez it hurt, gave me a hell of a fright.
Dial-up here too (sigh).

I dont know how anyone can use dial up, after having gone back to it for the short time I did it drove me nuts waiting to load up pages or to do whatever I needed to do on it. Just hope it never happens again. All I can say is that both of you must be extremely patient.....lol :mangapunksai:
